Overactive, Sensory Processing, Constipation

“It felt chaotic before. Now we can sit at a table and enjoy a meal.”

Before starting care, Dallas was dealing with constipation and had been diagnosed with sensory processing challenges. His mom, Riley, described him as “super overactive” and struggling to participate in typical toddler activities.

“He could not go to two-year-old things and sit with other two-year-olds. He was all over the place,” she said. “We were starting to see explosive behaviors just from trying to contain him in those types of settings.”

Riley and her family tried a variety of approaches in coordination with occupational therapy. “It was just a little stressful,” she said. “It felt like we had to buy 600 things to help him with sensory. We were still kind of in that chaotic spiral.”

But once they started care with Dr. Tyler, things began to change — and quickly.

“It didn’t seem like it in-office because he would scream, but then we realized — we could finally go to restaurants, and he would just sit at the table. He wasn’t reaching or bouncing across or trying to run. We were like, ‘Who is this kid?’”

Even after a short break in care, Riley was surprised to see that Dallas maintained his progress. “Picking it back up in the fall helped him stay stable, feel better, and be able to just enjoy more fun.”
